SPRUCE UP YOUR COURTYARD with a succulent wreath!

Caroline Ford, co-owner of Palm Island Nursery creates beautiful succulent wreaths, chandeliers and bowls using a myriad of succulent varieties. These wreaths look fabulous for years. Put them in full sun or even shade in the summer. Protect them in winter. Spray them down or soak them in a bucket and they will flourish, flower and keep growing for years. A great figt for all Northern California climates. Caroline's wreaths have been in many garden shows, including the 2011 San Francisco Flower & Garden Show.

Care & Feeding of Your Succulent Weath

  1. Water only when the moss base is completely dry. Immerse the wreath in water
or by sprinkling. To keep the wreath fresh-looking, mist with a spray bottle.
  2. Give the wreath plenty of bright natural sunlight.
Avoid placing the wreath in direct sun as the succulents may burn.
  3. During the growing season, begin fertilizing by using a balanced solution that contains
nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium. The growing season is generally between
March-October. Fertilizing will encourage new growth and proper nutrition.
  4. To maintain the desired shape of the succulent wreath, you may trim the succulents
with pruning shears or garden clippers. The wreath may take several months to a
year before the succulents grow out or lose its original shape. The best time to
trim the succulent wreath is during the spring-summer. You can even
propogate some of the leaves from such succulents as Echeverias.
